With more than 20 years’ experience as a master craftsman and team leader in the custom home building industry, Garrett Kirwin loves working in the field as Site Superintendent. Mr. Kirwin is known for his “tool-belt-wearing” management style as he guides our field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, construction activities, and materials to ensure high-quality projects are delivered on time and on budget.

Born and raised in Newport, Rhode Island, Garrett has distinguished himself on numerous luxury residential building projects across Aquidneck Island. The son of a plumber, he was first attracted to the business during high school.  He began learning the business from the ground up before seizing an opportunity for travel in his early 20s, when he spent a few years on the crew of a motor yacht and learned marine construction working on a tug and barge.

Upon returning, Garrett combined what he learned with his desire to build coastal homes. Along with his two brothers, he evolved his father’s plumbing business into a family construction business. Throughout, Garrett’s love was building beautiful houses. The administrative aspects of the business equaled in appeal. Over time, he and his brothers opted to work as sub-contractor on other large projects to keep themselves closer to the work and amassed an impressive and wide-ranging portfolio of luxury homes.

We’re grateful that this approach led to Garrett to joining our team. There’s little doubt that building is a labor of love for Garrett. During his off time, you’ll find him transforming the 19th-century farmhouse that his family and he call home.
