Jeff Sweenor has been involved in construction and development of residential and commercial properties for 22 years. His company, Sweenor Builders, Inc. which he founded in 1989, is considered one of the premier builders in southern Rhode Island. Jeff has developed hundreds of acres of residential land, constructed more than 150 homes and remodeled hundreds of properties.

Jeff has been involved in other related business interests which have complimented his overall expertise in the custom home building industry. In 1997, Jeff and a partner established Sitework, Inc to meet the growing demands of the company's site excavation needs.  The company still exists today and specializes in commercial site development for large multifamily complexes.

In 1998, Jeff along with two partners, started Bay Self Storage as a small self storage facility and grew it into the largest storage company in RI before selling to a national company in 2007.  In 2003, Jeff and two partners purchased the Wakefield Mill, infused $2.5 million in renovations to create the 60,000 square foot Wakefield Mill Professional Center. In addition, Jeff developed and built a sixteen unit maintenance free living community on 24 acres in the village of Kingston in South Kingstown, RI called Kingston Preserve which is still ongoing today.

Although Sweenor Builders still enjoys a strong presence in the South County Community, Jeff and his family have relocated to Lakewood Ranch, Florida where his son Ryan attends the IMG Academy for baseball.

In October of 2009, Jeff joined the Sarasota firm of Paradise Homes as an independent contractor where he functioned as Chief Operating Officer in charge of all new construction.  He assisted the start-up company develop into one of Lakewood Ranch's top builders.  He built three model homes and supervised the design and construction of (15) homes in the company's first year of business.

In January 2011, Jeff launched a Florida division of Sweenor Builders, Inc. based in Lakewood Ranch, where he will focus on remodeling and custom homebuilding.

Jeff is a past president of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Builder 20 where he led a national consortium of Custom Home Builders. Jeff has a B.S. from University of Rhode Island (1986) and was a member of the United States National Rowing Team in 1987 and 1988.
